My story

Honey is an incredibly sweet boy, but his journey has been much harder than any dog deserves…
In January last year, we rescued him from Doan Hung (Phu Tho) in severe mange, completely neglected. Before that, due to financial difficulties, his previous owner had to sell him to pay off debts. Unfortunately, he wasn’t properly cared for afterward, and his condition worsened. Thankfully, a kind neighbor reached out to us, and we were able to bring him in for treatment.
After a long time at the clinic, Honey fully recovered and was adopted into a loving home. Sadly, an unfortunate incident happened during feeding time. Food was tossed, and both dogs ran toward it at the same time. Acting on instinct, Honey reacted and fatally injured the smaller dog (only about 3kg).
This was heartbreaking for everyone. However, after consulting with a professional trainer, we understand that this is not uncommon behavior when dogs compete for food especially with a big size difference (Honey is 23kg). Feeding separately is essential to prevent situations like this.
Honey is currently staying at a training center with trainer Minh Toàn. His future adopter will receive 1 free consultation session.
At the center, Honey behaves very well:
* Gets along with other dogs (both big and small)
* Friendly with people, including children
* Previously, his owner brushed his teeth regularly and took him on daily walks around the apartment complex, where he interacted with many people and dogs
Honey is an adult male, fully vaccinated and neutered. He is not an “aggressive” dog he simply needs an owner who understands proper feeding management and care.
We truly hope Honey can have a second chance a home with patience, love, and understanding, so he won’t have to keep moving from place to place…
If you can adopt or foster Honey, please reach out to us. All he needs is one chance, and he will become a truly wonderful companion

Adoption Process

Before deciding to adopt, please ask yourself if you are ready for a lifetime commitment to a pet. There are many things to consider such as financial ability, accommodation as well as mentality (yes, being a parent is never easy). The adoption will also need the mutual agreement between your family and related sides.

And you feel ready? Please follow these steps.

1️⃣ Find your favorite pet on our website.
2️⃣ Contact our Adoption Counselor (account name: Hanoi Pet Adoption) to find out more information about the pet.
3️⃣ Take part in our adoption screening interview.
4️⃣ Prepare a corner for your pet, sign the adoption paper and pay an adoption fee.
5️⃣ Keep us posted on the pet’s new life, especially if an incident happens to receive proper support.

❗ Notice:
- For English speaker, please choose the account Hanoi Pet Adoption to ask about adoption issues.
- The adoption interview may include personal questions. Please be patient with us!
- The adoption fee varies on different pet, depending on their conditions when being rescued and the spent vet bills (vaccination, sterilization).
- The adoption fee is to cover paid medical fees on the pet and to support other animals in the shelter.
- If you want to meet the pet before adoption, you are welcome to visit our shelter.
- In case you are unable to take care of the animal, please inform us and return the animal. DO NOT give the animal to anyone without an agreement of HPA.
