introduce volunteers to rescue cats and dogs

Hanoi Pet Adoption provides assistance to hundreds of animals each year, we are able to do this only with the help of our supporters. There are many ways to get involved from becoming a foster family to volunteering at the shelter or by helping us on rescue cases. Please check out for more details below.

Volunteers Take Photos or Videos for Abandoned Dogs and Cats

Abandoned dogs and cats all need beautiful photos to find adoptive owners. If you have a camera or are confident in taking photos of dogs and cats via your phone, filming fun clips to make it easier for them to find owners, please register as a volunteer with us.

  • Work responsibly and sincerely for abandoned dogs and cats
  • Have good animal photography skills via camera or phone.
  • There is time to occasionally go to shelters and clinics to take pictures
  • Priority is given to those who have a camera (if you don't have one, it's okay to take good photos with your phone).
  • If you know how to design or use photo editing or clip editing software, even better (but this is not required).

Foster Parent

Foster Parent

Fostering an animal in need is one of the most rewarding experiences! Sometimes pets need fostering due to health, age or temperament. Opening your home to an animal not only ensures that they will stay healthier and happier while awaiting adoption, but it saves lives by allowing us to add more animals to our program!

  • The foster parent is responsible for providing shelter, food, water, toys, socialization and love to the foster pet(s).
  • When needed, the foster parent is responsible for administering medication, ensuring a special diet is followed, and/or continuing necessary training. All vet bills will be covered by Hanoi Pet Adoption at our appointed vets. The foster parent are welcomed to share the bill if they wish for.
  • The foster parent is responsible for monitoring medical and behavior of the foster pet(s) and reporting this information to the foster coordinators.
  • The foster parent are welcomed to help us look for potential adopters, and do not transfer the fostered pet(s) to other foster parents or adopters without the approval from HPA.

Volunteers Update information online

Volunteers Update information online

Every day we receive many rescue cases of abandoned dogs and cats, so there is a lot of information that needs to be updated on the Web. For example, new photos, vaccination schedules, sterilization, new photos, treatment details, new babies' personalities...etc. If you have a lot of time online and can occasionally visit the shelter, the clinics update the babies' information to match and detail them so that the babies can soon have owners and those interested in the rescue group can know.

  • Age: 20+
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Work responsibly
  • Have time online and occasionally go to shelter and clinics to update the situation.
  • Priority is given to those who know Vietnamese to enter bilingual information (if you don't know, it's okay).
